McCain says America is a Christian nation

Here we go again.  When all else fails, when your ideas are finding no takers, find religion.  

In an interview on Beliefnet, McCain declares America a Christian nation.

John McCain says the "Constitution established the United States of America as a Christian nation" .

This strategy of assuring fundamentalist Christians that they own the country gives Mccain a solid 8 on the Beliefnet godometer.

McCain also disparages Muslims as unable to lead our country and says "his faith is probably of better spiritual guidance than that of a Muslim candidate for president."

It looks like the Straight Talk Express got stuck in some gobbledygook.  

McCain also says he regularly attends a Baptist church, and is in discussion with the pastor to convert, but wouldn't do it during the campiagn for fear it would seem political.

What a mensch.
