My "Hot" Dem voted to fund the War

Thu May 24, 2007 at 09:08:21 PM PDT

In Tucson, Az, last summer, with 110 degree heat, I walked neighborhoods for an Iraq War I vet who was running for Congress for the seat being vacated by Jim Kolbe.
Jeff Latas who also had a son in the current Iraq War,(occupation)was anti war.

Jeff and I met at an anti-war march.  Kolbe had not announced his retirement and Jeff was willing to take him on.  After Kolbe announced his retirement, Gabrielle Giffords, a one term state senator, with a rich daddy, announced her candidacy.  Rahm Emmanuel gave her DNC support, the machine coronated her, the local Dem peons supported her, and she won the primary and the election.  Well guess what? She voted to fund the war.
I watched when she had some staffer set her up an DK account.  Some one on DK posted a diary with "Hot Dems." (Can't find it; help me out.) Gaby was shown in her faux western wear complete with Indian jewelry, and of course the perfunctory saguaro cactus in the background. Lots of you commented on her looks and called her "hot", but looks are deceiving. I held my tongue, because she won the primary, and I wanted to help Dems win.
Well now, I want you to know, that I knew all along that she wouldn't fly. She was a Republican before she was a Dem.  But once a Republican, always a Republican.
I'm mad as hell, I don't want to take it anymore, but I don't know how to make the policymakers understand.
Hot is not always hot, folks.
/End of mild rant.  I'm saving it for my phone call with Gaby tomorrow.  And I don't want to speak to a staffer either.  I want to talk to her
