David Brooks says "this election is not about Bush"

David Brooks said tonight on the News Hour that "this election is not about George Bush." Brooks said this in the context of talking about Scott McClellend’s new book which implicates George in the Valerie Plame outing. Brooks said he’s never heard anyone on the campaign trail ask about the issue of Plame’s outing, and thus it’s a non-issue.
Apparently David Brooks only attends the same pre-screened events that his beloved moron attends. And his PBS balanced counterpart, Mark Shields, never called him on the preposterous statement.
As usual, Brooks doesn't get it. This election is SO about George Bush. It’s about horrible leadership (leadership?) for the last seven years that has taken America from a respected world power to a world laughing stock. It’s about torture, stolen civil liberties, a failing economy, a growing deficit, a stolen surplus, 4000 dead soldiers, a war for oil, Republican greed, etc., etc., etc.
This election is a defining moment. Are Americans pathetic consumers with no understanding of their place in the world or are they fed up with the last seven years and will wake up and attempt to save their country?
What do you think?
Here’s the linky for those who enjoy the punishment of watching David Brooks. Yuk.
